Wall Weaving Studio Class!
Join us for our 2 hour course led by artist, Laura Pettit as she teaches us how to construct gorgeous, one of a kind, woven wall hangings made from natural fibers. Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from the artist the technique of macramé knot making. We will provide all materials including several different options for color ways (blushes, greens, blues and neutral palettes). Each student will also receive a dowel, 2 S hooks and 100 feet of natural cotton rope. During the workshop, students will learn 4 basic macramé knots and how to tie them together to form your own gorgeous piece of fiber art.
We are so excited to host Laura in our space, and we absolutely love the intricate nature of her work, the bohemian spirit behind her designs and the aesthetic of her weavings that feel so beautiful in any environment.
We look forward to seeing you all at POMKT for this amazing course with “Lu.”
A little about Laura:
“My artistic journey started in 2014 when myself and a friend started a small business, Urban Rose. We hand-dyed textiles and offered artisan goods and jewelry. It was during this time that I gained a large respect for all handmade goods and the process of producing art. Fast forward 2 years… I started to play with different fiber arts like macramé and weaving. Every moment of this self-taught journey has been both challenging and invigorating.
It all began as a creative outlet and has now bloomed into a business of handmade goods for the eclectic spirit. I aim to bring hand-crafted beauty into as many lives as I can. My hope is that my art brings light, love, and good vibes to you and to your space.”
